Via Comicbook.com:
The Force in Episode VII is strong enough for it to skip the early awards shows and have confidence in staying strong at the box office but that should come as no surprise.
Nevertheless, it’s worth sharing the fact that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has officially elected not to screen the film early for award show critics in favor of keeping the plot details a secret until the film is open to the public.
So far, Star Wars has opted out of the New York Film Critics Circle awards, Los Angeles Film Critics Association honors, and Screen Actors Guild awards. It will still be eligible for the Academy Awards, which will announce its nominees on January 14.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
