EA Says Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Will Come Out This Fall
Via Theverge.com:
Electronic Arts said today that it’s next Star Wars game, to be called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will come out this fall. The company had previously set 2019 as the release window for the story-focused game, which is in development with EA-owned studio and Titanfall creator Respawn Entertainment. But we haven’t gotten anything more concrete until EA disclosed the spring deadline in its quarterly earnings announcement this afternoon.
Given recent news that EA scrapped its narrative-focused Star Wars game under the EA Vancouver studio, it’s good news to hear that Fallen Order is on track for a release later this year, although there is still the remote possibility that EA will decide to push its release date into 2020. That said, with the EA Vancouver project no longer in the works, fans are looking to Respawn to deliver what they hope is a strong, story-focused Star Wars game, given EA’s focus in recent years on the Battlefront franchise.

STAR WARS OPEN-WORLD GAME CANCELED AT EA
Via Ign.com:
According to a new report, EA’s open-world Star Wars game, in development following the closure of Visceral Games, has also been canceled.
Kotaku has reported this game’s alleged cancellation. According to Kotaku, this Star Wars game was the one announced following Visceral Games’ closure in 2017, which came alongside the cancellation of Amy Hennig’s game in production at the studio. Development resources at the time shifted from Visceral’s title, reportedly codenamed Ragtag, to this new, now reportedly canceled title.
IGN has reached out to EA for comment.
There is no new word on what EA Vancouver’s focus may be, and whether or not they will continue exploring potential Star Wars games.
At the time of its initial announcement, EA framed the closing of Visceral and the game’s status as a “refocusing” of Hennig’s title. EA said the intention was for it “to be a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency, leaning into the capabilities of our Frostbite engine and reimagining central elements of the game to give players a Star Wars adventure of greater depth and breadth to explore.”
Following the closure of Visceral, EA Motive’s Jade Raymond, who has since left the studio, said they had plans to use work from Hennig’s project for the new Star Wars game.
Story and gameplay details then came out about Hennig’s canceled “Ragtag” project, with the intention of letting players control several members of a team of smugglers in the Star Wars universe. Todd Stashwick, who was co-writing the game with Hennig, called it “beautiful, amazing, fun, and funny.”
Hennig joined Visceral Games’ Star Wars project in 2014, following her departure from Naughty Dog. Later reports regarding the project suggested it would be a story-focused, Uncharted-esque game. Jade Raymond’s Motive Studio originally opened to collaborate with Visceral.

THE CONCEPT ART OF STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II
Via ea.com:
Enjoy some stunning concept art and learn more about its role in bringing the levels in Star Wars™ Battlefront II to life.
At DICE, we take a lot of pride in the visuals going into our games. Of course, tech contributes a lot with Frostbite being a powerful game engine, but the high level of visual fidelity wouldn’t be possible without a collaborative effort, spanning talent across different fields.
In Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II, a stellar-looking environment is never down to just a couple of artists, but rather to different crafts working together as a team. That’s the only way we can achieve the standards we set for our games.

By showcasing some work, and walking you through the process, we hope to give you a better understanding of its function and importance. But, admittedly, we also just want to show off some stunning Star Wars™ art.
