There were several movie stars in attendance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but it was a bald and sometimes very bored-looking Tom Hardy who caught the attention of the Internet. And while many Bane jokes were made thanks to the actor’s shaved head, it’s a very different geek property that ties Hardy to Harry: Star Wars.
Hardy, along with groom Prince Harry and his elder brother Prince William, all appeared together in a scene for Star Wars: The Last Jedi that was ultimately deleted. It is, however, included as an extra on The Last Jedi’s home entertainment release.
In a scene from a deleted, extended sequence set aboard Snoke’s mega destroyer, an undercover Finn, Rose and DJ sneak onto an elevator. The elevator stops and a whole team of stormtroopers get on, lining up behind our heroes. One stormtrooper — who speaks with a good ol’ boy drawl — recognizes Finn as FN-2187.
