Review: Black Series 6″ Scout Trooper Archive Edition

This figure was first released as a set with his Speeder Bike, so this is a welcomed re-released single carded figure. Army builder if you will. This is a great figure with lots of articulation and a great paint job. Accessories are his blaster only. I wish he would have more accessories, like a removable helmet and flip up visor. I love the articulation of the knees. You have knee movement above and below the knee for even more possible poses. Thighs pivot side to side which is great, plus the bend at the hips. Like I said lots of great articulation. I wish they would also release a clean white version at some point, but overall this is a great figure and one you definitely need more than one of. I think this one even with only having a blaster is worth the $20 price tag. As of this posting you can grab one now for only $16 at this link via Amazon

Review: Black Series 6″ Yoda Archive Edition

I think this is a great figure with a lot of great detail. Accessories are good, lightsaber is really good (saber separates from the hilt), the cane is good but would be better if it was thicker. Belt is good, but could be better if it was wider. Snake is really good. Robe is good with nice fabric, but could be better if it was made with a thicker fabric. Figure is great with lots of articulation. I can’t compare to the first release, but overall this is a great figure and due for a re-release because the first release was hard to find. Is it worth the $20 price tag? Yes and no. Yes it’s a great figure and Yoda is a must have figure. No, because there just isn’t enough accessories for the $20 price tag. You can pick him up as of this review for $18.59 at this link via amazon.

Review: The Black Series Emperor Palpatine Action Figure with Throne

Amazon Exclusive Emperor in Throne price point $39.99. You can click here to order still even though it’s temporarily out of stock. It will ship once stock has been replenished.

I think the figure in all is a good upgrade to the first Emperor release. I like the cloak better than the previous release. The chair is nice, light weight and solid. The Force lightening hands are not the best. They are a rubbery plastic, I would have liked a more solid plastic for this feature. The cane is cool and made well. The 3 heads are nice but as you can see in the pictures the two extra heads are very similar and seem a little pointless.

Overall I really like it and will display this with a couple Emperor’s Royal Guards and Darth Vader at some point. But I don’t feel Hasbro gave us enough value in the extras to make really worth $39.99. Which Hasbro is very good at not giving us enough value in the extras on the 6″ line. If this item eve goes on sale on Amazon it would make it really more worth a sale price than the full price. Check out all my images in the gallery below.

‘Star Wars IX’ And ‘Frozen II’ May Both Fail To Top ‘The Lion King’

Via Forbes.com:

The Lion King earned another $7.53 million on Thursday, dropping 50% from last Thursday and 15% from yesterday. That gives the Jon Favreau-directed animated remake a $392 million domestic total after two weeks in North American theaters. Barring a fluke, it’ll cross $400 million domestic sometime today. And if it has continued to track 36/64 domestic/overseas, then its current worldwide cume should be just over/under $1.01 billion worldwide. Presuming and over/under $38 million third-weekend gross (-50%), the $175 million flick will have $430 million domestic and around $1.19 billion worldwide by Sunday night.

That will put it past Aladdin (currently at around $1.015 billion), Spider-Man: Far from Home (currently over/under $1.05 billion) and Captain Marvel ($1.128 billion) to become the year’s second-biggest global grosser. And looking at the rest of the year’s slate that have a shot in hell at supplanting The Lion King as the second-biggest grosser of the year. Okay, so Hobbs & Shaw could pull Wolf Warrior 2 numbers in China. Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level (opening December 13) could be a breakout sequel even on top of its predecessor’s $962 million total.

However, realistically speaking, the next two super-duper blockbusters in contention for the silver medal are Frozen II (November 22) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20). While both films will be huge, can either of them hope to out-gross the (at this juncture) likely over/under $1.425 billion global finish of the Disney musical remake? Let’s dive in and see what we’re dealing with.
