Marvel Comics bolstered its line of Star Wars titles with a brand new Darth Vader series. This new volume takes place right after the closing moments of Revenge of the Sith, expanding that infamous “NOOOOO!” scene and picking up when the movie ends.

Charles Soule, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cam Smith, David Curiel, and Joe Caramagna create the comic, establishing the new Sith Lord as a powerful force of evil in the new Galactic Empire. The first issue gives Vader a new quest which will lead him to a greater purpose, while filling in some of the details that get lost in the runtime of the films.

Revenge of the Sith never reveals what happened to Yoda’s lightsaber after his battle with Darth Sidious. If you recall, he lost the lightsaber in the Grand Convocation Chambers of the Senate after deflecting Palpatine’s lightning blasts. Yoda then plummets to the floor and flees for his life.

But what happened to the Jedi Master’s weapon after he escaped? The movies never gave a clear indication, out of sight and out of mind much like Anakin’s lightsaber after Luke lost his hand on Bespin.
