With the next chapter of “Star Wars” set to hit theaters this December, nuggets are starting to come out about shooting the new flick, like this one from Oscar Isaac. The actor stopped by “Late Night With Seth Meyers” last night to promote his new film “Ex Machina” and revealed that when he first met Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo in the original films, he asked for some flying tips. Isaac is playing Poe Dameron, a fighter pilot, so the question seemingly was a natural one. We won’t ruin the outcome, but let’s just say Ford broke it down bluntly.
Isaac took it in stride, and as Meyers points out, he’s been a life-long fan of the series – so much so, he used to dress up in character with his family, when attending the film openings. “I went for functionality over form,” he said. “I went as a gonk droid. You just put a box on and some grey shoes and you’re done.”
