If you love “Star Wars” and coffee, Maria Aristidou, a commercial artist, illustrator and cake designer, has made the artwork you’re looking for.
Aristidou posted a few videos to her YouTube page recently showing the process of making pretty elaborate portraits of Yoda and R2-D2, but instead of using standard paints or watercolors to paint her masterpieces, she uses coffee.
The result is pretty incredible, and any “Star Wars” fan who enjoys a good cup of coffee would be lucky to hang these pieces on their wall. The two time-lapse videos, which you can view above and below, show Aristidou creating both portraits from start to finish, so you get a sense of what goes into turning coffee into art.
Aristidou’s work expands beyond the galaxy far, far away on her Instagram page, where she shows off her coffee art featuring everything from Queen Elizabeth to Super Mario, Davy Jones and even Daenerys Targaryen. But by far the cutest thing on her Instagram is her picture of a Lego Stormtrooper minifig, with a blaster at the ready as he chases whatever the heck he’s trying to blast.
