GOODNIGHT DARTH VADER by Jeffrey Brown

It’s bedtime in the Star Wars galaxy, and Darth Vader’s parenting skills are tested anew in this delightful follow-up to the breakout New York Times bestsellers Darth Vader™ and Son and Vader’s™ Little Princess. In this Episode, the Sith Lord must soothe his rambunctious twins, Luke and Leia—who are not ready to sleep and who insist on a story. As Vader reads, the book looks in on favorite creatures, droids, and characters, such as Yoda, R2-D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Admiral Ackbar, Boba Fett, and many others as they tuck in, yawn, and settle down to dream. As ever, Jeffrey Brown’s charming illustrations and humor glow throughout, playing on children’s book conventions to enchant adults and kids alike.

Review: SSC Darth Maul Mythos Statue

The art team at Sideshow wanted to tell some new stories about some of our favorite Star Wars characters and, with the encouragement of Lucasfilm, created the Mythos line of statues which has proved to be a huge fan favorite!

With the Mythos Darth Maul, Sideshow was paying homage to a story from the Star Wars Tales comic titled “Nameless.” In it, Maul is tasked to track down and assassinate a legendary Jedi with technique so pure he wields only a wooden club. After being once defeated, Maul fabricates his signature dual lightsaber, inspired by Sith schematics and weapons of his native people.

Per Sideshow, “We have envisioned him in a strong, almost meditative martial artist pose. He is dressed in loose garments not unlike that of a Ronin samurai, with one sleeve off and fabric draped to expose tattoos on his upper body. He stands with both arms extended, one clutching his victorious new weapon at his side, and the other out in a Force push.”

Most accurate Lego Imperial Star Destroyer Ever Built!

Via Lego.gizmodo.com:

More than 40,000 bricks. 110 pounds (50 kilograms). 6.62 feet long (2.02 meters). 4.1 feet wide (1.25 meters). 1.9 feet tall (58 centimeters). Eight months of design and building. Those are the stats for the biggest, most accurate Lego Imperial Star Destroyer ever built. It’s truly amazing.

This model of the Chimaera—the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer used by Grand Admiral Thrawn in the Star Wars extended universe—is not only amazing because of its massive size. It’s the perfection and accuracy of this Lego machine is one of the most impressive Lego builds I’ve ever seen. Every single detail was resolved with masterful skill, using a technique called SNOT—or Studs Not On the Top. If you notice, you won’t see any of the typical Lego bricks studs.

Jerac, a Lego builder from Lódz, Poland, started to design this titanic model on November 11 2013. It was a very complex endeavor, so building actually started on December 28, 2013, ending on June 1, 2014, just two days ago.

Check out the intricate work. The imagination he displays in the use some of these pieces is simply incredible. Kudos Jerac!
