Star Wars Fan’s £50,000 Memorabilia Haul Stolen From Home

Christopher Lupton knew his collection was worth a lot and had stored it accordingly in a safe place – but someone found it and made off with the lot.

A Star Wars fan is counting the cost after heartless thieves made off with his massive collection of science fiction merchandise thought to be worth £50,000.

Christopher Lupton’s treasured collection was apparently stolen by burglars who broke into his home through the back door while he was away on holiday.

The valuable memorabilia was kept in a hidden area behind a wall with four shelves in a cubby-hole in the loft of the house in Dewsbury, West Yorks.

It included items that were signed, never opened and very rare figurines.

“The house was completely ransacked,” said Mr Lutpon, 46, who started the collection with his twin brother Mark.

“But the only thing that was taken was my Star Wars collection and a few watches.

“It was kept in a hidden area. You would have to have some idea of where it was or that it was not kept in cupboard.

“They looked in every drawer, every wardrobe, and even moved the beds out of the way to see if there was something behind it.

“They put back together the four shelves before they left, which was strange.”
