In an exclusive preview of Zeb’s character short, which officially debuts Aug. 25 on Disney XD, viewers get right in on the action. Inspired by original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie’s design for Chewbacca, Zeb (voiced by Steve Blum) — the “muscle” of the group — expertly fends off a dozen Stormtroopers, all while showcasing his unique snark and attitude during his rogue mission.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, which spans about two decades. The animated series is set in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
