The Line Kings will tell the story of a bunch of Star Wars fans in a line…
With a new Star Wars film, inevitably, comes a new line. In the days of the prequel trilogy, there were stories of people camping out for days, even weeks, to be first in line for the new film. And now a new comedy is coming that’s set to salute the commitment of Star Wars fandom.
The movie is called The Line Kings, and it’s set to follow a group of Star Wars fans who duly camp out for four days in Los Angeles, outside of the Chinese Theatre. The reason for the queue? A Disney announcement that those first in line get a walk-on role in the new Star Wars film. The resultant battle between two fan groups is set to be the focus of the movie.
It’s being written and produced by Billy Riback and Steve Rubin, with the plan being to film the movie in the spring. It’s set to be directed by Tony Dow, who’s worked on the likes of Babylon 5 and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
No more news on The Line Kings right now, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
