The lamp is 71/2 inches tall. Darth Vader’s lightsaber features a bright 12x LED light. The lamp requires 3x “AA” batteries and can be plugged right into your computer for optional USB power.

The lamp is very well constructed. It is made of plastic and is typical of Lego quality – sturdy and durable. Darth Vader is fully poseable. He can be displayed with or without his helmet. There is a fabric cape that can be added. To put the cape on, you need to remove the head which is very tight. You need to really pull on it to get it off. The head goes back on easily. His arms and legs easily move so that he can be positioned in any way you like. The lightsaber is held in Darth Vader’s hand, but it twists around so that the light can be directed to where you need it. One side of the lightsaber is clear and allows for the most light and the other side is red and does not allow as much light through. This is a great feature if you are using this lamp as a night light for a child – the light can be moved so it isn’t too bright.

Darth Vader can be removed from his base. Darth Vader can be posed and used away from the base, he can be used with the base or he can be portable. This allows you the freedom to choose how you want to use the lamp. If this lamp is being used by a child, Darth Vader can travel with the child and be used as a “flashlight” of sorts. The multiple options for use make this lamp very versitile.

The lamp requires 3x “AA” batteries, which allow the lamp to work when it is removed from the base. It also has a USB power cable, so it can be plugged into your computer. There is a button on the front (on Darth Vader’s chest plate) that turns the light on. When the button is pushed once, the light comes on at its dimest setting, then when pushed again, it comes on at its brightest setting.
