Earlier this month, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul was cast to play Luke Skywalker in a live reading of The Empire Strikes Back. Turns out that it may have been a precursor to a legitimate Star Wars project starring Paul.
According to Star Wars news site Making Star Wars, Paul’s name is attached to the franchise’s first spin-off film. The project is being helmed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwards with a targeted release date of December 16th, 2016. Citing a source close to the project, Making Star Wars reports that the film will center around young Han Solo. It’s unclear what role Paul would play, but fans have been quick to point out Paul’s physical resemblance to Harrison Ford’s original character.
The as-yet-untitled film will arrive one year after Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.
