Those of you familiar with the now non-canon universe of Star Wars, known as Legends, are aware Luke didn’t lead a life old and alone… He actually fell in love with the assassin who had been sent to kill him for years!

Each episode has always had fans guessing how this Jedi Master would be introduced into the new Disney canon, from her being mentioned as one of those who died in the Jedi Praxeum (a fancy Star Wars word for Jedi Academy), to being buried on Ahch-To having decided to live with Luke in his isolation. However, both films have neither acknowledged nor hinted at a possible female Force user other than Rey and Leia.

A new casting call reveals the ninth movie of the saga is looking for a new female character whose name is “Mara”. (If this turns out not to be Mara Jade, why use such an iconic name? It’s like some sort of cruel joke; why can’t you introduce another awesome female character?!)
