Imperial Army Invades Los Angeles

Via Huffingtonpost.com:

The Imperial Army from “Star Wars” is on the move — and this time, they’re not confined to a galaxy far, far away.

In this fan-made video, they’re attacking Southern California, hitting landmarks in the Greater Los Angeles Area such as the Queen Mary in Long Beach, the Pacific Park amusement park on the Santa Monica Pier, L.A.’s Griffith Park Observatory, and Los Angeles International Airport.

Watch for plenty of references to Disney, which now owns Lucasfilm and, with it, the “Star Wars” franchise. (And if you want help spotting the 25 or so Easter Eggs, check out this clip.)

The film was made by Kaipo Jones, who has a series of effects-heavy videos on YouTube, many of which involve cats with super powers.

In a behind-the-scenes clip, Jones said it took him between two and three months to make the “Star Wars” video and he used 3D models that can be found online at scifi3d.com.

In a short second clip, he offers a visual explanation for Harrison Ford’s plane crash last month: The actor was engaged in a dogfight with Imperial Tie Fighters, and shot down.
