Harrison Ford’s Han Solo made a memorable return to the big screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens recently, but did you know that the character was originally supposed to make a cameo in Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith?
As Den of Geek reports, George Lucas was close to including the smuggler in the 2003 movie and nearly changed the character’s backstory dramatically in the process.
The director initially decided to included a 10-year-old Han in the film, showing him growing up on Chewbacca’s home planet Kashyyyk.
Although Lucas decided against including the cameo, the original script suggests that the character was actually raised by his future friend and co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon Chewbacca.
In a further twist, Han would also have met Yoda if the cameo had taken place.
The Jedi master would have encountered the youngster while trying to find General Grievous’s whereabouts.
Concept artist Iain McCaig revealed the original storyboarding for the character in the Revenge of the Sith art book, and also spoke about Lucas’s original plans for the cameo.
