Star Wars Rebels: Every Voice Heard In The World Between Worlds

Via Screenrant.com:

Warning! SPOILERS for Star Wars Rebels Season 4 ahead!

The latest episode of Star Wars Rebels features voices cameos from nearly a dozen classic Star Wars characters – and we’re going to break down who they were and where their lines came from.

The final season of Star Wars Rebels has been full of surprises, from Kanan’s shocking death to Ahsoka’s surprising return. But beyond just shocking fans with big moments, Rebels has also been reflecting on how far its characters have come and what its place will be within the Star Wars saga. In tonight’s episodes, that reflection comes through in the form of visions and voices.

The visions appear in tonight’s first episode, “Wolves And A Door”, when Ezra, Sabine, Hera, Zeb, and Chopper travel with the Loth wolves through a hyperspace tunnel to the Jedi Temple. While inside the tunnel, images from previous seasons flash before them. Primarily, these visions show moments from the earliest interactions between Ezra and the Ghost Crew, but they also show moments where Kanan embraces his Jedi training and begins passing it on to Ezra. These are fundamental moments from the series – especially for Kanan and Ezra’s relationship – and they remind us how close-knit a family the Ghost crew really became over these past four seasons.

As for the voices, these can be heard in tonight’s second episode, “A World Between Worlds”, when Ezra opens the portal to the surreal Force realm that exists outside of time and space. The biggest clue that this place isn’t of the normal universe are the voices Ezra can hear talking – snippets of lines heard in Star Wars Rebels, yes, but also other in other Star Wars films that come both before and after.

DAVE FILONI DISCUSSES THE NATURE OF LOTH-WOLVES

Via Nerdist.com:

The loth-wolves of Lothal have continued to play an important role in Star Wars Rebels since their first appearance in “Flight of the Defender.” They led Ezra and his fellow rebels safely away from the Empire, and their story isn’t through. In the trailer for the back half of the final season, the beings are prominent. We see them appearing to have Ezra’s back in a fight, and we see a huge dire-sized wolf, too. The Princess Mononoke influence is strong, and Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni told Nerdist it’s probably his favorite animated film of all time, but also said Never Cry Wolf was a strong influence when he was adding wolves into Rebels. “One of my purposes was having wolves as the avatar for this Force type character was  to give kids another positive image of a wolf. There are so many negatives around the wolf,” he explained. “So this is just another positive, I hope, representation of the animal while still respecting that there is a duality there, as all things in nature have.”

6 HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE STAR WARS REBELS MID-SEASON FOUR TRAILER

PALPATINE SETS HIS SIGHTS ON EZRA BRIDGER AND MORE FROM THE THRILLING NEW TRAILER.

One last lesson…

Our first glance at the last we’ll see of Star Wars Rebels has arrived. The stakes have never been higher, and the fight has never been as perilous.

But the Ghost crew has never been more united. And this trailer balances those growing stakes with their determination to fight the Empire. There are moments of despair, revelation, and hope. These are the six that stood out to me.
