We have some good news: Star Wars Battlefront II’s open beta is coming this October. We know you’re eager to find out what’s headed your way in the beta. Here’s what’s inside:
Galactic Assault on Naboo
Join the Separatist droid army or the Republic Clones on the streets of Theed in massive 40 player multiplayer melees
Choose from four distinct trooper classes:
Assault troopers are classic flankers, pushing the line forward and advancing the front
Heavy troopers use their high-powered weapons and personal body shields to take ground and hold it
Officers power up their teammates with buffs and deploy remote weapons to support their allies
Specialists lay traps and snipe from a distance
Control beloved Star Wars heroes, pilot prequel-era vehicles, and more
Multiplayer Starfighter Assault
We’re not sharing all the details around this yet, but we can tell you that you’ll be able to take part in an epic starfighter assault set during the original trilogy era, piloting an assortment of Star Wars’ greatest ships in an objective-based, multi-stage battle. Star Wars Battlefront 2 – CRATE UNBOXING FIRST LOOK
Star Wars Battlefront 2’s Shift From Paid DLC To Loot Boxes Is The Future
Via Forbes.com:
Alpha codes have gone out for Star Wars Battlefront 2, and everyone getting their hands on the game for the first time in a less-controlled setting than E3 has led many to focus on one aspect that wasn’t highlighted at the show, Star Cards.
Star Cards mainly modify existing abilities for heroes, adding bonus damage, length, distance, resistance to various skills in common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary rarity. The more rare the card, the bigger the boost. They are found in loot boxes.
You may see where this is going.
The original Star Wars Battlefront (not the original original, but you know what I mean) was heavily criticized for relying on a pricey season pass that locked away most of the game’s best content as DLC. This time around, the central message rolled out at E3 was “we heard you,” and it seemed like the DICE was adopting a Titanfall 2-like mentality. All future hero and map DLC would be free, for everyone. Cue the Ewok celebration on Endor.

Battlefront II – What We Know
Via Businessinsider.com:
It’s no surprise that the big gameplay reveal for “Star Wars Battlefront 2” has been watched nearly 10 million times in just over a week.
Nothing quite gets people going like the whoosh-whoosh of a lightsaber — except for maybe wielding that lightsaber themselves, of course.
And that’s exactly what you’ll get to do in the upcoming game, scheduled to launched on November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Here’s everything we know about the game so far!
“Battlefront 2” takes place in the aftermath of “Return of the Jedi” (the final film in the original “Star Wars” trilogy). The second Death Star has just exploded, and you’re an Imperial soldier with revenge on the brain.

E3 2017: Star Wars Battlefront 2’s DLC Is Free
Via Gamespot.com:
Following the big Star Wars: Battlefront II multiplayer reveal earlier, GameSpot spoke with design director Niklas Fegraeus about the sci-fi shooter’s free DLC plans and more.
A number of high-profile games are offering their DLC maps and modes for free, including Halo 5 and Titanfall 2, and the Battlefront sequel joins them for some of the same reasons. Fegraeus told us that giving away DLC maps ensures that everyone can play together. In 2015’s Battlefront, EA added numerous maps as paid DLC, and as time rolled out, the community became more and more splintered, leading to player figures falling.
“I think the main thing here is to keep the community together,” Fegraeus said about Battlefront II’s free DLC model. “In terms of the brand, to me, when it comes to Star Wars, that’s a family feeling. If you’re a fan, you’re a part of the family. And splitting that up and saying, ‘If you have this content you can play here, but if you have this content you can play here.’ And if you don’t share, you will be split up. What we wanted to do was have a journey that starts at the launch of the game. So when the game launches, this journey starts with different seasons [of DLC].”
Battlefront II’s first season of themed DLC launches in December, themed around this year’s new Star Wars film, The Last Jedi.
