JJ Abrams Buys Pizza For Everyone Waiting in Line at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams is so happy to have fans lining up overnight to see the trailer for his new film that he’s bought them all pizza, according to numerous Twitter accounts from the scene.

The trailer is expected to to debut tomorrow morning as part of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, and while the livestream of the event is expected to go out over the Internet simultaneously with the live presentation, fans still obviously want to be in the room as the first new Star Wars film in a decade debuts footage that’s expected to include Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo onscreen for the first time since Return of the Jedi.

MEET THE CAST OF SMUGGLER’S BOUNTY

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim is almost upon us. And with it the SMUGGLER’S BOUNTY Live Audio Drama Stage Show!

What is a “live audio drama stage show”, you ask? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Smuggler’s Bounty is an original (non-canon) Star Wars tale, inspired by classic radio dramas like Brian Daley’s epic Star Wars Trilogy for National Public Radio, crafted exclusively for Celebration Anaheim to be performed one-time-only, with hundreds sound effects and music cues pumped into the theater, LIVE in front of 4,000 fans!

Ever since Celebration VI Orlando in 2012, when our first live radio drama Smuggler’s Gambit was wildly received, I knew a sequel was on the cards. So I got the band back together — JIMMY “MAC” MCINERNEY (RebelForce Radio and Behind The Scenes Stage Co-Host), DAVID COLLINS (Digital Stage Host and our Han Solo) and FJ DESANTO (Co-Writer) and myself — to produce a follow-up.

New LEGO Buildable Figures

LEGO just announced 2 additional LEGO Star Wars large scale Buildable Figures that are launching in September. General Grevious and Obi-Wan Kenobi!

The Battle for the galaxy is going to get bigger! Expanding the way children can build and play within the Star Wars universe, new LEGO® Star Wars™ large scale Buildable Figures are launching in September. The first sets featuring Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker were unveiled at New York Toy Fair in February, with four more being unveiled this week at Star War Celebration.

The six sets are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight, General Grevious, Obi-Wan Kenobi Jango Fett and Commander Cody. The last four will be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration and all six models will be on display. Prices range from $19.99 to $34.99 and will be available in September 2015.

SMS Audio at Star Wars Celebration

SMS Audio will be at Star Wars Celebration this week at booth #1265 to showcase its newest headphones – including its co-branded Star Wars collection.

Building on the success of the First Edition (Boba Fett, Stormtrooper, Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire), the Second Edition is currently available for pre-order and will ship in May. Each pair features 3D/texturized branding on the ear caps and specific styling to depict new favorite characters: Darth Vader, R2-D2, Tie Fighter and Chewbacca.

A sponsor of the Fan Mixer on April 18th, SMS Audio will also host giveaways throughout the evening. In a recent partnership, SMS Audio is the official headphone of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales Panel at SWC

LEGO will be having a special “Behind the scenes: LEGO® Star Wars™ Droid Tales” panel happening this Friday at 4pm! Michael Price, Michael Donovan and Jason Cosler will all be discussing the new series- a re-telling of the Star Wars universe through the eyes of C-3P0 and R2-D2- airing later this year and answering any questions you may have.

To celebrate the series, they created a LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales poster, located on the back of each LEGO Star Wars movie poster. They will be giving them at Celebration! See the entire schedule below for all activities!

For the first time ever, highlights and more than 30 hours of exclusive video content from Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will be officially live streamed to a worldwide community of fans on StarWars.com, all powered by Verizon.

Launching with a live stream of the highly-anticipated kickoff panel featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy, the StarWars.com Celebration live stream powered by Verizon will continue providing coverage throughout the four-day event from a specially-designed Star Wars Cantina set located in the middle of the action on the convention floor.

Verizon and StarWars.com will deliver 30-plus hours of live streamed content following Thursday’s Celebration kickoff, featuring over a dozen panels and events, including discussions with actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid, and several other performers associated with the Star Wars saga. Additionally, StarWars.com and Verizon will be live streaming the Star Wars Fan Film Awards; the Smuggler’s Bounty radio drama; EA’s new Battlefront videogame; and several other exclusive Celebration events that might otherwise be missed by members from Star Wars’ global fan community.

Between the live, on-stage events, StarWars.com will feature live interviews with celebrity guests within the Star Wars Cantina set specially built to capture the mood and atmosphere of the infamous Mos Eisley watering hole from A New Hope. These segments will have a fun, variety show flavor to them that brings a bit of the Star Wars Celebration vibe to those enjoying the event from afar.
