New Tie Fighter In Solo: A Star Wars Story – New Information Revealed

The recent Star Wars timeline, so far, has been challenging to follow. Every time we reach the end of a Saga story — be it The Force Awakens, or The Last Jedi — we flash back to an earlier movie set between the Prequels and Star Wars: A New Hope, meaning fans have to establish their bearings, remember what they knew, and learn more stuff along the way. At the same time, whenever a new movie opens, we’re able to add to the Star Wars canon by introducing new aliens, droids, villains and ships. Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story introduces the new TIE Fighters shown above. They are known as TIE/rb, and Lucasfilm recently released more details on the ships, explaining:

Compensating for the relative fragility of the unshielded TIE starfighter is the armored TIE/rb, a reinforced heavy starfighter with much more powerful laser cannons.

Ships take a beating in the Star Wars universe. Most of the smaller TIE fighters and even Wing Fighters can be taken out in a single blast. And have you seen the multi-ship space battles that occupy almost every Star Wars movie to date? It’s virtually impossible NOT to get hit when engaging in an airstrike between the Rebel alliance and the First Order — or, in the case of Solo: A Star Wars Movie, the evil Empire.

Solo’s New Trailer Has A Hidden Rogue One Cameo

The new trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story is chock full of Easter Eggs. But in amongst the Millennium Falcon changes and blaster origins, there’s actually a Rogue One cameo.

The Star Wars galaxy is an immersive place, one where every character seems to have a narrative and a backstory. That idea’s about to be proven once and for all with Solo, which will explore Han’s childhood on Corellia and his early years as a smuggler. At last, Star Wars fans will get the chance to see just how everyone’s favorite scoundrel earned a Life Debt from a Wookiee. But, along the way, fans will also be watching carefully to see just how Solo fits into the complex narrative of their beloved galaxy far, far away. Every scene will be combed over for Easter Eggs.

One of the more subtle Easter Eggs has been revealed in the second trailer for Solo. In one scene, Han is chatting to Lando over a Sabacc table, asking about the stories he’s heard. They’re clearly in the kind of black market gambling den that Star Wars has always loved playing with (see: Mos Eisley Cantina, Jabba’s Palace, Maz’s Castle, Canto Bight). And, just as with Mos Eisley or Jedha Temple City, it’s safe to say the aliens and smugglers will develop their own stories. But one of them is actually already recognizable.

Hasbro revealed several new products this morning leading up to the highly anticipated debut of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Products will be available at mass retailers starting on 4/13, with several products available for pre-order TODAY on Amazon, Walmart, and Target (The Black Series 6-Inch Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Range Trooper Figures).
