NEW YORK, NY – July 7th, 2015 – Groundbreaking fangirl fashion company, Her Universe™, announced today that it will be returning to San Diego Comic-Con International with all of its most popular geek girl styles. The convention will be held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 9th to the 12th. Actress and Her Universe Founder, Ashley Eckstein, revealed that Her Universe will debut several new designs and will offer its most popular dresses, cardigans, fashion tops, skirts, hoodies, jewelry and much more from Star Wars, Marvel, Star Trek, Studio Ghibli and Nerdist. As with previous years, the Star Wars Her Universe boutique will be located in the Lucasfilm Pavilion (#2913Q). This year, however, fans will find a second Her Universe boutique (#1317) filled with other fangirl fashions from Marvel, Star Trek, Studio Ghibli and more.

“We are excited to bring our Her Universe boutique back to San Diego Comic Con,” said Ashley Eckstein. “Elevating our product like it’s never been before; we have an assortment of casual and dressy options to beautifully express your fandom and Flaunt Your World!”

“We are thrilled to be expanding our footprint at SDCC this year, with two boutiques” added Michael Rego, Chief Executive Officer of The Araca Group. “We are continuing to develop and produce merchandise for some of the most iconic and beloved brands in the world. We are looking forward to another great year at SDCC.”

SDCC STAR WARS COLLECTIBLES SNEAK PEEK

Via Starwars.com:
San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is right around the corner, and as usual there’s a plethora of awesome Star Wars exclusives from Hasbro, Funko, and more creators of Force-filled products. Here’s our guide to what’s available at this year’s show!

FUNKO

Funko is bringing three limited-edition Hikari vinyl figures to SDCC as exclusives. They include Infrared Boba Fett (1,000 pieces), Black Darth Vader (1,200 pieces), and a 501st Clone Trooper (1,500 pieces). Each eight-inch figure costs $80, and judging by how quickly these sold at Star Wars Celebration, they’re bound to be popular here, too. (Thankfully, there isn’t a Greedo this time around, as StarWars.com’s very own Matt Martin collects Hikari Greedo figures.)

The ever popular line of four-inch Pop! vinyl bobbleheads from Funko continues with two show exclusives. Choose from the chromed version of everybody’s favorite protocol droid, C-3PO, or an un-helmeted version of Princess Leia as the bounty hunter Boushh. Each is priced at $15 and limited to 1,000 pieces.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Comic-Con

Via Ew.com:

“Your eyes can deceive you. Don’t trust them.” So says Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Entertainment Weekly has learned some details about the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel at San Diego Comic-Con that you can count on.

First of all, the presentation this Friday afternoon will not include a trailer or any new clips of the movie. The next trailer will be coming in the fall, according to sources with knowledge of the project.

But don’t go hurling your cup of blue milk at the wall just yet. There will be other surprises.

Roughly six months before the Dec. 18 release, the Comic-Con panel will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the highly secretive film, which was completely locked down to press during production. (It’s still locked down. Lucasfilm and parent company Disney declined requests for comment.)

Director J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy are already confirmed as part of the panel, which will be moderated by Nerdist impresario and Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.

Although EW hasn’t learned just which of the cast members will be joining them, our spies say there will be several actors who haven’t yet spoken publicly about their roles venturing onstage in Hall H.

In advance of The Force Awakens panel, there will be two publishing presentations Friday morning about upcoming Star Wars books, but those will also be somewhat restricted in what they can reveal.

Chuck Wendig (Blackbirds, Under the Empyrean Sky), author of the novel Star Wars: Aftermath, will be discussing his personal history with the galaxy far, far away during a Friday morning panel, but won’t be able to dive too deeply into the plot of his book, which explores the battles between the Empire and the Rebellion following the events of Return of the Jedi. Much of that will remain under wraps until closer to the book’s Sept. 4 debut.

A panel for middle-grade books will have more to reveal, since most of their stories are retellings of the original trilogy. Alexandra Bracken (the Darkest Minds series), will discuss The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farm Boy—a is series of first-person perspectives from Leia, Luke, and Han about the events from the original Star Wars.

Adam Gidwitz (A Tale Dark and Grim series), will explore retelling The Empire Strikes Back from Luke’s perspective in So You Want To Be a Jedi, and Tom Angleberger (The Star Wars Origami books), will share his quest to bring humor to Return of the Jedi with Beware the Power of the Dark Side.

Finally, Tony Diterlizzi (The Spiderwick Chronicles) will showcase his picture book retelling of the original trilogy, illustrated with artwork by the late Ralph McQuarrie, the concept artist who devised the look for much of George Lucas’s universe.

Before The Force Awakens trailer hits this fall, there will be even more Star Wars at Disney’s D23 fan convention in Anaheim this August. Until then, remember these words of wisdom from The Emperor …

Star Wars Black Series First Order Stormtrooper SDCC Exclusive Unbox Part 2

Yesterday, we put up our in hand gallery (click here if you missed it) of the Star Wars Black Series First Order Stormtrooper SDCC Exclusiveand today we have him all out of the box for a new image gallery. Check out the gallery below. FYI – there is no way to remove this guy cleanly without ruining the package and cutting some tape and bands, but if you take your time, you can clip the small rubber bands on his arms and slide his feet out, and you can put him back in with just the 2 clips at the base of the feet and he can still stand okay for display.

It was awesome to be able to hold the first toy from The Force Awakens in my hands. He is a great figure (like all the 6″ Black Series) and will be a great addition to your collection. You can pick him up at SDCC in a few weeks and at Hasbro Toy Shop after the show. We want to send a big THANK YOU to the team at Hasbro and Hunter PR for sending us this early sample to share with you!

Boba Fett, Legendary Mandalorian Bounty Hunter has a long and colorful history. While many fans remember him from The Empire Strikes Back as well as his animate debut in The Star Wars Holiday Special, his true first appearance was as a member of the Star Wars delegation in the San Anselmo County Fair on September 24, 1978! At the time, Lucasfilm was headquartered at 52 Park Way in San Anselmo, about twenty minutes north of San Francisco. As part of harvest parade, Darth Vader and for the first time in public, Boba Fett, marched throughout the street waving to fans of all ages. The armor was worn by assistant film editor Duwayne Dunham and featured several noticeable difference such as the brightly colored blue jump suit, yellow and red armor highlights, as well as the “tribal marks” on his helmet; all altered for his later film appearances. JAKKS Pacific is excited to celebrate this legendary character and offer an articulated action figure of First Appearance Boba Fett or the first time ever!
