MEET THE GEONOSIS JEDI
Via Starwars.com:
When Obi-Wan Kenobi got captured on Geonosis by the powerhouses of the Secessionist Movement, Mace Windu decided to lead a task force of 200 Jedi. Meanwhile, Yoda left for the Kamino system where the Republic would make use of the mysterious clone army that had been ordered about a decade ago by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. The participation of the Jedi on Geonosis would prove to be an omen of what the Clone Wars would bring for the guardians of peace and justice. The battle showed what the Jedi were and also what they weren’t. The Jedi were compassionate beings who didn’t hesitate to rescue a fellow Jedi in need and who did anything they could to protect the Galactic Republic. But the Jedi had evolved into diplomats and keepers of the peace instead of hardened battlefield commanders. The outcome of the Battle of Geonosis would be disastrous for the Jedi Order, as about 170 of the 200 Jedi would perish on Geonosis’ reddish soil. Let’s meet the valiant Jedi who joined Master Windu to Geonosis.
“This party’s over!”
Though Obi-Wan Kenobi had already been joined by his Padawan Anakin Skywalker and Senator Amidala in an unfortunate attempt to rescue him, Mace Windu was the first Jedi of the task force to reveal himself to Count Dooku and the leaders of the Confederacy. Master Windu reached Archduke Poggle the Lesser’s balcony by sneaking through the dark alcoves of the Petranaki Arena. He may have often thought about that moment when he had the chance to kill Dooku right away, but that wasn’t the way of the Jedi. Dooku warned Windu that the Jedi would be outnumbered when they entered the battle. Dooku did tell the truth as he unleashed hordes of battle droids and Geonosian warriors upon the Jedi.

STORMTROOPER COSTUME BY ANOVOS
Via Starwars.com:
The Empire’s various ground troops may enforce Palpatine’s tyranny with no mercy, but they do look pretty awesome doing it. There’s the sleek scout trooper uniform, there’s the menacing snowtrooper outifit, and there’s the layered Imperial combat driver fatigues. There’s nothing quite like the original, classic stormtrooper armor, though, and ANOVOS’ new costume is an amazing re-creation. (If you were ever looking to rescue a princess on the Death Star, this is the disguise you’d want.)
An iconic design, stormtrooper armor is simultaneously intimidating, futuristic-yet-familiar, and very cool. In creating this new costume, ANOVOS used references from both private collectors and the Lucasfilm Archives, developing unique sculpts for each piece of armor. It is scheduled for a Winter 2015 release, and is available either as a completed uniform with minimal adjustment work required ($1,600), or as a kit that you can custom build for yourself ($650). Imperial loyalists who pre-order before May 4, 2015, will receive a special discount: $1,200 for the completed ensemble (25 percent off) and $350 for the kit with completed helmet (nearly 45 percent off). Visit ANOVOS.com for full ordering information, and check out a preview gallery below and more details below!

TATTOOS AT STAR WARS CELEBRATION
Via Starwars.com:
When I organized the very first Star Wars tattoo track for Celebration III way back in 2005, I had no idea that over the next 10 years we would continue to grow what was originally a very niche segment of fandom into one of the most popular attractions at the event! That first year we had a small booth showcasing some wonderful paintings and flash art from some of the pioneering artists in the Star Wars tattoo world, and we also held our first-ever Star Wars tattoo competition. While the booth and competition that year proved more popular than I expected at the time, I certainly never imagined that a decade down the road we’d still be going strong and preparing to unleash what is, hands down, the largest and most exciting Star Wars tattoo-related programming ever seen at Celebration!

6 THINGS YOU CAN LEARN FROM HERA SYNDULLA
Via Starwars.com:
The crew of the Ghost wouldn’t get very far without Hera Syndulla. Besides the fact that she owns the ship and uses her exceptional piloting skills to get them out of trouble on a regular basis, she’s the heart of the Star Wars Rebels team. Hera determines which missions the team takes and seems to know exactly when someone needs a word of encouragement. That said, she also knows when holding the line and risking personal conflict is more important than divulging secrets that aren’t hers to share. Simply put, she’s a leader through and through.
Until the Season One finale, Hera was the only person aboard Ghost who knew the rebels were part of a bigger plan. It couldn’t have been an easy burden to carry, but she did so and stayed on target. Because of her guidance and wisdom, the team’s efforts rippled out from Lothal and inspired citizens to open their eyes and see beyond the Empire’s facade. Whether you’re fighting against an oppressive government or waging personal battles, you can learn from Hera’s actions.

WE NEED THAT SCUM: A GUIDE TO BOSSK COLLECTING
Via Starwars.com:
Introduced in The Empire Strikes Back in the short but memorable scene on the Executor, Bossk was one of the few non-human characters in the movie. The Trandoshan also had a cameo in Return of the Jedi, but it wasn’t until the nineties that he (and his fellow bounty hunters) truly entered Star Wars stardom. West End Games created a background for Bossk that was later expanded, last but certainly not least in Star Wars: The Clone Wars where Bossk made several appearances. In more than three decades a lot of merchandise has been produced about Bossk that will enable you to set-up a nice collection of Bossk goodies only. Who still dares to comment that bounty hunters are scum?
3.75” Action Figures
Most fans of vintage Kenner toys know that Boba Fett was available as a mail-away before The Empire Strikes Back was released, but so was Bossk. He was announced as a “secret action figure” in 1979 and you were able to get him in a white mailer box with four proofs-of-purchase. Carded Bossk appeared in the first wave of Episode V and was also released on Jedi and Tri-logo cards. The vintage figure has a few variations and features quite some nice details. Its spacesuit is well sculpted and it comes with a unique weapon.

THE CINEMA BEHIND STAR WARS: THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD
Via Starwars.com:
For many filmmakers, Ray Harryhausen is one of the most important names in the movie business. He was a pioneer of stop-motion special effects and holds a special place of inspiration in the history of Star Wars. He’s famous for a lot of films, but perhaps the most important would be 1958s The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the first film using stop-motion special effects to be shot in full color.
I knew this movie was important to the history of cinema, but it wasn’t until an interview I did with Phil Tippett on Full of Sith that I realized its importance to Star Wars. This was the film that inspired Tippett to get into the business of making films, and his contributions to Star Wars can’t be undersold. He was one of the key the artists who created the holochess game we see played in A New Hope. He was the man behind the go-motion techniques that brought tauntauns and AT-ATs to life in The Empire Strikes Back. He was the man who operated the Rancor’s head in Return of the Jedi.
And none of it would have happened if he hadn’t gone to see the 1958 classic, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. This film tells the tale of Sinbad the sailor. Although he’s headed to Baghdad to marry the Princess Parissa, she is shrunken by an evil magician named Sokurah. Sokurah tells Sinbad that if he accompanies him to the monster filled island of Colossa and retrieves his magic lamp, he will be able to return the princess to her normal size. On Colossa, Sinbad and his crew fight cyclopean beasts, the Roc, a Dragon, skeletons, and all other manner of stop-motion monsters.
