PLAINFIELD, Ind. – A Plainfield couple celebrated their love for each other and Stars Wars in a unique wedding ceremony.

When John and Carol Shrout set out to plan their special day, they knew it had to have a Star Wars theme, including head-to-toe costumes.

The newlyweds are avid Star Wars fans as well as philanthropists. Instead of asking their wedding guests for gifts, they asked for donations to the Make A Wish Foundation on behalf of the 501st Legion/Bloodfin Garrison, a local group of Star Wars enthusiasts.

Thanks to their guests, who traveled from Illinois, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania dressed in full Star Wars gear, the Shrouts were able to make a donation of more than $500.
