On Thursday, May 24th, Making Fun: The Story of Funko will make its debut on Netflix and you’re not going to want to miss out!
In the process of making the film, the Eddie Grace Film Crew spent two years traveling to dozens of locations around the world including Vietnam, New York City, the Philippines and Funko headquarters in Everett, Washington, all the while capturing the stories and passion of the individuals who helped shape the Funko story. From humble beginnings as founder Mike Becker makes his vision a reality in a garage in Redmond, Washington to the company’s sale to Brian Mariotti and the launch of Funko’s bright and shiny store in Everett, the Funko story spans 30 years.
Of course, the story wouldn’t be complete without hearing from Funko fanatics ranging from lifelong collectors to celebrities including Kevin Smith, Tony Hawk, Elvira, Cletus Seldin and Robert Englund. Making Fun celebrates the relationships that have been built around the Funko fandom over the past three decades. “The evolution in which nerd collectibles now build group friendships rather than ostracize you from them is a beautiful thing,” said Luke Y. Thompson of the Nerdist in a review of Making Fun.
