Matt the Radar Technician took the galaxy by storm following his introduction in Saturday Night Live’s “Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base.” Who knew that all it took to make Kylo Ren even more terrifying was a disheveled blonde wig, coveralls, and a terrible pair of glasses?

The set was recreated to look identical to the interior of Starkiller Base, and if there’s one man who appreciates the sets and props of Star Wars, it’s famed movie-prop restoration artist and creature costume creator Tom Spina of Tom Spina Designs. Having worked on countless recreations of Star Wars sets before, Spina was at the top of the list to assist with the production of SNL’s sketch. StarWars.com sat down to talk with Spina about his history as a Star Wars prop aficionado and his work on “Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base.”
